i say anything over 17inch rims on a e36 is way to big!! they weight to much and most of the time they are crhome and looks like crap! umm e36's are supposed to be sporty and great track cars, not some bling bling fest like the car in that dudes profile, but to all his own, but think about it m contour rims (Stock on luxury package m3s) are the way to go! 17X7.5 lightweight looks great and yeah

IMO 17 is the best and 18 is the largest. 19s can be made to fit with slight modification to the fender lip. 20s are the same, but just look stupid on the e36.

Most 17s offer the same contact patch as 18s and weigh less. The disadvantage is more sidewall flex. Given there is very little sidewall with 17s anyway, the weight pro outweighs that con.
