Reverse Light help!!!! - BMW Forum

I have a 5 speed 1994 325i and my reverse lights don't work, neither side. I know it's not the bulbs. Any ideas. Thanks for the help.

There is a switch on the rear of the transmission. Easy fix. I think it's on the right rear of the tail housing.

Thanks Tech. I'll look into that. One other issue I have is the instrument panel goes on and off as you're driving. Nothing else seems to be affected. It's as if you're starting the car, with chimes going off as well. It doesn't happen often, but at least once a day. It happens wether or not the headlamps and/or fog lamps are on. Any ideas? Thanks.

It could be the cluster going out. I'd have it checked out for faults.

Just re-wire the reverse lights to a buton built into the dacsh. look under your tranny, find the reverse light wire and re- wire it to an on off switch. it is cool because then you can turn it on and off while your driving and people are like, "what the hell he is going forward in reverse"
