okczy21 is an unknown quantity at this point
i just got these gauges so now how do install them i cant figure out how to get the dash off

The insturment cluster pod?
There are 2 screws that hold it in near the top of it's "cave" I think they are phillips head.
Slide one side of the pod out, unhook the two cable harnesses, and manhandle the pod out with one corner through the steering wheel, and the other not. May need to turn the car on so you can turn the wheel so you can work it out.

Look in the FAQ for an E36 DIY link site, there's some good tutorials there w/ pictures on how to do it.
