Rev Surge at Start

I'm driving a '93 325i with just over 175k miles on her. Everything seems to running great except for a surge that happens right when I start her up. The extent of the surge ranges from revving from 2500 to almost 5000 rpm. Once this initial surge is over then there are no other idle problems or surges when she is running. I've been looking around the forums but haven't found any other problems that relate specifically to this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

mine was doing the same thing.. the idle air control valve tube going to the bottom of the intake duct had a crack in it and the vacuum line to the fuel pressure regulator was cracked into two peices. i would also clean ur iac valve while ur there its easier to remove the intake to get it out and while ur there u can replace intake gaskets $22 and inspect all vacuum hoses while ur there.
