Rev Indicator Issue :S + a take-off noise

Hey,

Recently my car has decided to start doing this weird thing but only sometimes.

When rpms get above about 2500 the revolution indicator on my cluster starts to "lag". Its as if its only getting a reading every 1sec or so and it then updates itself. It looks like its skipping a beat pretty much, but the engine sounds fine (well as fine as always).

Any ideas? Maybe the senor that measures this is broken but i got no idea where it is located and cannot seem to find any information about it.

The other problem is that whenever I take off I hear this 'donk/bang', towards the front of the car. Not too loud but I can hear it. You guys got any ideas on what this could be?
