| I don't know how it is on BMW's, but at the audio store I manage, when someone comes in needing a code for a Mitsu, or a Honda lets say, we pull the factory radio out, take down the serial # and call the service dept. and usually over the phone they do it for free. We usually don't tell them we are doing what we are doing, because they probably charge anywhere from $50-$100 to do it. We just tell them we had to take the battery loose and the radio locked up and we need the code. We charge the customer who brought it in $25 unless it is a real hard job to get the radio out we may charge up to $10 more. Try a local reputable audio shop first, then if all else fails, go to the stealership!
