Who here has replaced their stereo? Do you absolutely have to have the special screwdriver from BMW to do so? Also any hints/tips would be greatly appreciated. I am putting in this puppy in the next few days: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-4vjnXeusdcX/c...00&I=500CDA9847

You don't have to have that "special tool". I used allen wrenches. I did have to use two different sizes for each side for some reason, but if you have a set you should have not problems. I installed a Clarion but installing yours should be pretty much the same. Crutchfield is great with their customer service, they give you a complete install instruction for your car and phone support in which they will actually talk to you and walk you through and problems you are having. I just followed the instructions from them and the ones that came with the stereo and it was not too bad. I had never done one before and it took me an hour or so, most should be able to do it in alot less time. Check the audio forum if you are having problems that can definately help, but my guess is that you will not need it.
