Replacing outer door gaskets E36

Hi,

Newbi from Sydney, own 320i need to replace outer door handle gaskets.
Has anyone got a thread or picture of slider that needs pushing to remove outer handle

I think you have to release the handle from the inside to remove the gasket.

If it's the same as a 328, you have to take off the interior panel and sound deadener, then with window up and a helper lifting outer door handle for a better interior view, you can see a very thin piece of metal near the key lock which you can slide towards the front of the car with a long screwdriver. Kinda hard to see it, but if your in an uncomfortable position, your close. It is almost behind the glass. Use a good light. It slides pretty easy and the outer cover will about fall off. Don't slide it too far or it's a bitch to get the screwdriver back on it to move it back into place.

Here is a set of photo's how to replace the outer door gaskets.
All is done withe the door panels in tact.

Took me less than 5mins per door. Supplier of gaskets is Malaysia. Check on Ebay $20US.

I hope this will help everyone. Replace items in reverse order
