Replace taillights with Red/Clear Tail Light Failure

All the lights work. Why would the error come up?

This is what the instructions said. I just put the bulds in and installed the lights. What exactly is this telling me to do. (SOrry for being retarded). These are ebay lights

1. check if the vehicle is equipped with the check-control system.

2.Back position left light
Cafefully seperate the bridge B
In case of failure, the bridge can be removed via welding.

3. Back position light right
Carefully thrill open the points of attachment of bridge B without destorying the synthetic supports.
In cases of failure, the bridge can be removed.

Weel, I have OEM lights and the same thing is happening, so if anyone has a solution, it will be greatly appreciated. I know it has somethihng to do with the resistance across the terminlas, but I do not recall what size of resistor needs to be connected across said terminals. I may take the time and search around, but I am rather busy at the moment.

I called a car shop around here that works on a lot of bmw's. They said it usually always happens. Usually only when you turn your lights on, other then that you do not get the error. They said they can fix the problem takes about an hour, cause they need to go get and test to see what size resister the harness needs. So other words if you know a shop that can intall and test for the right resister, or like he said most do, just live with the error when you use your lights. It won't hurt anything from what the guy said.

^^ That's right. I just live with it. I don't care. I have access to pretty much any size resistor I may need, yet I don't think it is worth my trouble. I am just glad it didn't come up last time I took a girl out -- hehe. It is just kind of sad to have your car tell you "BRAKE LIGHTS FAILURE," and it not going away.

I had my 95 325is fixed by the stealer 3 years ago and its been the same "BRAKE LIGHT FAILURE'" still popping up every so often. Like drz, I also just live with it.

i drive a 92 325i. I got my euro tail lights from ebay too. even before i installed tail lights i had this problem. But in order to install these lights and make all my brake lights and parking lights work me and my dad had to make grounds becuase the light sockets were not connecting with the circuit board. I have learned to live with the so called "Brake light Circuit" and the "Tail light failure".

that error is watever...doesnt do jack...no point in gettin it fixed, in fact i think im just going to take out my obc...
