removing starter

i have 95 318ti hatch back has anybody taken off the intake manifold to get to the starter i have one bolt off but the one to the left side is hard to get to,i have the gasket kit for the manifold if i take off.it just look's like the easy way to get to the starter and is there any problems i might have by taking the manifold off,any suggestions thank you
