Removing parking brake cables

I am having trouble removing the parking brake cable from the underside where the cable goes into the cabin. The repair manual says it should just pull out, but I tried for a hour and had a friend come over and it wouldn't move for him either. Is there somthing else I need to do to make it come out. The car is a 1992 325i. Thank you

Did you loosen the cables all the way to where they attach to the handbrake? Never tried taking the cable out though

If itís where the out cable fit into the floor pan they do knock out but they can seize in, itís a matter of a long flat blade screw driver and a big hammer

The screw driver and hammer worked good. I got the right cable out but I will need to take the exhaust off to get to the left cable. For anyone who want to replace their parking brake cable themselves I would advise you it is a lot harder than it looks. Thanks everyone
