I have never seen a factory alarm on an e36, remote start your car!
Remote start is the best feature, I start the car 3-4 minutes before I walk out the door and when I get in, the cab is starting to warm up and the engine is happy because it go to warm up as well. Not warming up a car is... just wrong!

what about the alarm that is in the Bavauto magazine, it says its really easy to install, i was looking at the VTX stellar with motion/tilt sensor, but that is 319.00 ... is it worth it, if i can do it myself. i want it incase someone tries lifting my car to jack rims, or what have you.. i would really like someone's opinion before i waste my $$

I purchased the compustar alarm system. If someone touches the car and I am within a mile and a half range it will alert me. The alarm has a two way remote, and will let you have the car cool down in case of a turbo, or start up if the temperature dips within a certain range. I really recommend it, just make sure to get it installed by a quality custom shop or spend alot of time doing it yourselve. The alarm was about 600 dollars and the install was only 200. Not bad since it took the shop 8 hours to do, very cool guys crazy custom stuff they do. Anyways hope this helps.

Which system did you put in cruzin? It was expensive but really nice. It is fun to scare the tourists around here when they walk by and the car starts. Then the subs kick in and start pounding away. God I love BMWs. No one suspects a nice car like that would fall in to the hands of a bass loving punk like me!

I am post whoring and I love sub systems. But the HK system is kind of weak! I already blew the mid in the front right door panel!
