So i used to work for Magnolia Hi Fi here in Or. And before i left i bouht a Clifford G5 Avant Guard 5 security system w/ remote start. Awesome Huh?! Well i left it in 1st gear and accidently started it. It drove through a warehouse bay door and mashed up my passenger side fender. So i need a new fender. Prefer it to be silver. any ideas where to look? OH it is a 1998 m3 sedan. does anyone know if a normal e36 sedan fender will work or does it have to be ///M?
Fender is the thing above your wheel right? (I'm dutch, so that's why I ask )
If that's so, there is no difference between ///M and non ///M
Only difference there is, is that there are models with and without sidemarkers, at least in europe that is.
So that would be the only thing to check, aside to the fact that you really need one from a sedan, not coupe etc.
So, now I've helped you.. Now may I laugh? I almost pissed my pants trying to imagine your situation..

I am just confirming what vwk said: there is no difference between m and regular front fenders. Make sure you get the sedan fender (different for coupes) with the holes for the sidemarkers. You can get one from the dealership for about $200, and paint could run anywhere from $200 - $300. One body shop I visited wanted over $1000 because they wanted to color match into the doors, and charge me for every ridiculous little thing they removed and installed back on the car.
thanks guys... really it helps to laugh about it. also thanks for the advice. it is appreciated. the worst part is that is the first accident i've ever had and i can't even say i was driving. but it goes against me llike i was behind the wheel. wow... lame huh!?
i didnt think you could get remote start for manual cars... or did you leave it in drive, if so i didnt think u could start a car in drive... am i a newb or is there somethign weird with this
I'm not sure if it applies to your car, but make sure you buy the fender for '98... Because between 95/96 they did a facelift and the side markers are different, so I assume the hole in the fender may be different...

no nothing weird... They make them for manuals but long story short; to install it for a manual it takes a lot longer than it does for an auto. So i had my installer wire it for a auto... when my car is a manual. I figure it could have been much worse. And i guess i built some character... Right?
This whole thing sound really dumb, you guys didnt notice. If he left it in first gear right even if the car starts it will shut off becuz the clutch pedal is not depressed and its not into gear, i dont know how the car started moving.

come on guys.
that can be defeated. my friends talon can be started in gear without depressing the clutch.
