Hi there all,
So I bought a 1997 318i on a private sale (first mistake!) and it's been nothing but an absolute pain since.
It's needed a lot doing just to keep it going.
Anyway, when I bought it, the guy told me it had remote central locking, just the electric part of the key fob was missing (and gave me the key, which was missing parts!) so to work it, I'd need a new key.
Anyway, a few months has passed and I wasnted to treat myself,
so I ordered a master key. On collection, the lads at the garage couldn't code it,
saying I most likely don't have remote central locking. Ouch my wallet!
I just want to know, how do I check for sure,
and if I don't have it, is there any way I can upgrade it to use the new key fob with remote central locking?

Yep, that works, but I know I have central locking,
I want to know if I have remote central locking
