Regular->Super switch (fuel)

I've been thinking of switching from regular(87 octane) fuel to super(91) but I am unsure if emptying my fuel tank from regular before fulling on super is needed or if there is no risk in mixing them.

Mixing does no harm at all. But if your car runs fine on 87, there's no need to switch. But I think all BMW's should have the higher octane.
