ok i just had surgery on my left knee and i couldnt drive my car. so my dad wanted to drive it one day (friday) and he forgot the sunroof was open so he turned on the ignition and shut the roof but forgot to take the keys out and he killed that battery

i didnt think anything of it, but i was still pissed

well now that i charged the battery it still wolnt start and when i turn the ignition on the tach and mpg gauge jump arround hardcore

what the F*%# is goin on!!!!!??????? ghead ghead ghead

Batteries get to a point sometimes where they can no longer be charged. I bet that battery is dead and can no longer hold a charge. Try a new battery and if it doesnt work just return it. I say that is your best bet..

Get a new battery... its the first thing you should do... then check fuses.... good luck,

Try jumpstarting. If it starts with a jump, then new battery should take care of the problem. If, on the other hand, if it doesn't start with even jumping, then ignition switch may have burned (???) I don't know whether it's tru for BMWs, on some older cars, if you leave the ignition on (but not start) for a prolonged period, the ignition switch gets burned.

Hope it will start with a jumpstart...

checked fuses and the batt is charged and holding a charge. i bet the shutoff valve for the fuel pump kicked over, sometimes cars have that so when the batt goes totally dead the fuel pump doesnt leak into the engine causing flooding, im gettin it hookedup to a diagnostic machine today....
