Red Engine Light

OK...The other day my car wouldn't start, so I had to get it towed to the shop. When they got the car at the shop it started right up for them?! So I had them look it over to check out the problem and do the oil and change the belts...They found nothing, no bad codes no nothing. But when the mechanic called me to tell me this he also asked if my red check enginge light was on before I had it towed. The only time I ever saw the red engine light is when the key is in the start position just before I turn it over...They checked it out with their diagnosis equipment and nothing turned up. WHAT COULD THIS BE? They say it's fine to drive and it could be a fault in the computers ground? I got the car back today and it runs fine. I'm wondering if anyone out there has seen or heard of this before? HELP!

Check if your battery terminals are secured and not loose. That could be a problem. Just my 2 cents

Ah, a cosmic ray of gamma radiaton flipped a bit or two in the ECU computer and it went nuts and turn on the mystical "Red" engine light. That or the electron monkeys are playing tricks on you!!!
