recommend synthetic oil

i want to change my oil to mobil 1 synthetic but my car has 227,000 and the last owner used valvoline max life i'm worried if i do change to mobil 1 do you think it might hurt the engine ( what i'm concerned about is spinning a bearing) 93 325is thanks

do you have any oil leaks? was the Valvoline full synthetic?
If you don't have any leaks yet, you should be safe to change to mobil 1 syn.
With that many miles I would recommend a thicker oil to avoid any potential leaks. I have 207,000 miles on my 92 325i and I use 15w-40 mobil 1.
