Rear wiper problem on 318Ti - BMW Forum

The rear wiper occaisionally stops half way across the rear screen. If you lift it off the screen it returns to the park position. Any ideas?

Possibly worn linkage. Have you tried a new wiper blade?

The wiper arm seems to be direct off the motor and there doesn't appear to be any linkage.
If I lift the wiper off the rear screen it works OK.

Maybe the arm was removed and replaced in the wrong position?

sounds like the motor going for a shit to me. the drag of the wiper is to much to pull it across since it works with the arm pulled up. seen a rear motor for a ti on eBay for $50
