Rear Speaker Replacement - BMW Forum

Im looking to replace my rear speakers in my 1992 325is, how do I get access to them to remove them?

I removed the cover ontop of the speaker to check it out, but it looked like a tight area to work in so I havent tried anything yet. I read online some where for a 325i that you must remove part of the seat and do all this other stuff to get access? sounded like alot of work, im hoping thats not the case for me.

Can i just get to it from inside the trunk? that would be ideal

no u need to take the cover off and then there are two screws and a clip holding them in, un plug the connector and them slide them out gently u can access them from the back seat while it is down and using a shorty phillips

I think ninja summed it up well; if you're looking for replacement speakers that fit the factory boxes: 4 inch speakers drop right in.

i drive a 95 2door and i was lucky to find a pair in a 98 at a pick n pull for $20, they sound freakin awesome with the cd 43 stereo

if looking to replace your rear speakers you can get an adapter that will fit in and enable u to go to 6x9 speaker. BSW does this upgrade when they sell all the new system. They charge about 60 dollars for the adapters I found them on amazon for 12. Just another option. Remember be flexable.
