Rear shock mounts

I hear a rattling sound coming from the rear whenever I drive over a bump. My rear shock mounts are "loose", as described by a bmw mechanic. Should I worry about replacing this soon? Will it affect the camber or the wearing of the rear tires?

Just replace them. They cost about $25 per side and it is pretty easy to do it yourself. I did mine when I replaced the rear shocks on my wife's car.

It shouldn't affect the camber at all but I'm not positive on this.

why dont you just tighten them. after i replaced my shocks i didnt tighten the rear shock mounts enough and got a bad thumping sound every 20ft or so. but all i had to do was tighten them as much as a could and it went away. the only tool you need is a ratchet and the rsm's should be accesible from the trunk
