Reading Engine Codes??

I know there's been way too many post about the damn "check engine light", however, there was a thread way back where a user mentioned somthing about...and I quote "turn your key to the fully on position but do not start the car, pump the gas pedal 4 times relatively quickly. The check engine light will blink out several error codes (four groups of blinks, count the number of blinks, 4 blinks for 4, 2 for 2, etc)".

Anyone know more about this?...I haven't tried this yet, but does anyone know what i'll be able to learn from this?

Everyone's tellin me..."ah..probably an O2 Sensor"...but she doesn't seem to running bad....the damn thing just turned on and haven't found anything wrong yet...???

PS....yep, i check the gas cap....

wont work for you, because your car is OBDII not OBDI, your going to need a code reader of sorts or have to take it in so the dealer can read the codes.

if you are in toronto (east part) check out a place i get service from autotrend. talk to Don..... or email the site is www.autotrend.net you can say mark from bimmerwerkz sent ya.
