Read bad shaking at 60mph +

Last month I got new lower control arms (Meyle) with centered M3 LCA bushings installed. Right after, it felt fine driving and all, then I had to go for a long drive (500 miles +) and during the ride I went over a rough patch of gravel where it was really bumpy because of construction, and after that my steering wheel started to shake real bad and has been for about the past month, it literally shakes side to side when you're on the freeway if you dont have both hands on it.

I am wondering if it could be a coincidence and that I just need to get an alignment done (wasnt sure if I had to after install) or if one of my rims might have cracked when I went on the drive and that could be the cause. The last alignment I had was in January and my steering wheel/car has never shook before this. Any help is appreciated.

-Mike

EDIT: oops, meant REAL, not read, if a mod sees this could you please change it

Yeah you did the right thing by driving it a couple hundred miles after the suspension work. Gotta let the new stuff "settle" in. Get an alignment now you should be OK. Getting the wheels balanced also would not hurt.

Hey

The shaking you are talking about happens because one of ur wheels needs to be balanced, i had an audi before and it shook like crazy after hitting 60mph and then i had it balanced it totally dissapeared. Just balance them and u will be totally fine trust me.

There are many things that could make your car shake above 60mph..

Needs an alinement...

Wheels need balancing...

Wheel is bent...

Control arm bushings are bad...

Brakes are warped...

I could name a few more... that is what I have thought of now.
