Rattling In A/c Duct - Blower Motor?

I drove over the pothole the other day, and a rattling sound started coming out from the A/C ducts when the fan is on. It goes "tr-tr-tr..." and speeds up when the fan is at higher speed. Is it the blower motor, or something just touching the blades of the motor, making that sound? The whole A/C-fan system works fine - just that annoying (and pretty loud) cracking sound.

Nobody ever has replaced their blower motor? Do you need to remove glovebox for access, or the entire dashboard? Any good DIY with photos out there?

I get the same noise - it's very noticeable when the fan is at lower speeds, not as much so when it's turned up to 3 or 4.

I've been thinking about trying to get a used motor off of ebay, but maybe I'd be better off just pulling out the motor and checking it out. I'll let you know if I find anything out.

Damion - the blower motor is accessible from the engine bay - there's a cover for it; pretty easy to take off. My noise however, just misteriously went away - so I didn't have to replace mine. You can take it apart and lubricate the bearings - I guess that'll get rid of your squeaking.
