I have a '97 328 IS. The radio light went out. Can this be repaired or does the whole head unit have to be replaced? I've heard this is a common problem with the C33 Alpine head unit. Any ideas?
do you want to keep the head unit? or are you looking to upgrade in the future anyways?
i personally would change the head unit. but the actual problem is probably gonna be a light bulb
Mines going going almost gone too - I stopped banging on the side of the headunit as this stopped being effective a few weeks back. But a lightbulb? Is thats what illuminating the panel? Soundslike a job where I pull the headunit - remove a dozen teeny screws and find that the bulb is soldered and then cant find all the screws and wont get the headunit back in...sigh.
