would i be able to patch a radiator with an epoxy that adheres to plastic? i can reach it from the inside, so would i be able to epoxy from inside to eliminate the pressure pushing throug it? i just dont have the money to get a new radiator at the moment. if there is anything else i could do to patch a 1/4inch crack in the plastic on the drivers side of the radiator, its right at where the hose connects to the radiator...
Problem is that your crack is just the beginning. If you've got one crack, then the rest of the plastic is weakened as well. Even if you successfully fix that crack, you risk a blowup on the highway that will strand you and possibly blow your headgasket or worse, your head.
i would just buy a new one. it's not worth ruining your engine. a new raditor cost like 80-100 bucks.
haha the only ones that i have seen/ran across are $200+. if you have seen or now where i can get one for $100 help a poor man out and tell me, because right now the only thing BMW stands for is BROKE MY WALLET!!!!
look on ebay, might be able to find something there. dont try and fix it. whatever you do make sure you get an all aluminum one that will not crack. i had the same problem and it kept getting worse and worse till it failed completely.
Don't know any dealer that sells lesser than $170 for a radiator but maybe you can get one which is already used but still in good condition like what I did with my old car's Mazda radiator. I bought it from a friend.
