well. its been a month now sice i messed up the wheel on my car by hitting a curb. i found an axle. gona order it on ebay by tomorrow. when i get it and put it in the car, i was wondering how should i drive it. i have been running the engine every few days in the driveway, to warm it up and get the fluids going. but when i start driving it the rest of the car hasnt moved for a long time. should i take it easy for a few minutes, days? i dont know. just wanted to know what ure guyses(and tegs, and some other girls) opinion is on this. thanks.

well if you live in florida i would think starting it would be enough, seeing its not that cold, all your suspension parts should be fine, i take my car out when ever its decent out, seeing it snows alot, and it seems alot of stuff freezes up and just needs to get warmed up, but i doubt that would be the case in florida
Starting it and letting it warm up at idle without driving it is bad. That just wears out your engine rather than giving it excorcise. Unless the temps are well below freezing, your actually damaging your engine.
Your car will be fine for weeks on end without being started.
The only thing I'd be worried about are the tires being impacted for sitting in one spot for more than a month, any less than that, then just roll it back after a week, and then roll it forward after a week to spead the load out.
Engine startups and waiting on it to warm up is very rough on the engine. The engine and it's components were designed and expected to expand to a certain size so the engine operates smoothly. When the engine is cold and warming up, the parts arn't expanded completely and wear funny. Also, varrious parts expand at different speeds since they don't receive as much heat until the engine is completely warmmed up.
Short trips around town wear the engine (and everything else!) more than a full day of highway driving.
ok. thank u very much. i ordered the part off of ebay and it will be here soon. i am so happy. i hope it runs fine. btw. im not too worried about the tires because i will buy four new rims all around within a month and that also means new tires. do u guys think that anything on the suspension might be going bad. its been sitting for a month in the same spot on a jack.
its only been a month, i really wouldnt worry too much, my car has been in storage all winter, and ive driven it once a month , and started it another time or so.
