Hey I already searched the forums but didn't see anything answering my question so here I go. I can only use my keyless remote when I'm like right next to my car. I thought it might be the battery so I replaced it but it still didn't work from farther distances...only when I'm like right next to the control unit(behind the glovebox). I guess the next thing would be to try a new remote but if that still doesn't work I'm not sure. Anyone else have or heard about this problem?
the transmitter may be faulty, or the antenna wire may be shielded. The connection could be loose too. Take of the glovebox and look at the unit. Makes sure all plugs are secure, and also that the antenna (will be a loose thin wire) is not balled up.

Well I took the glovebox off and found the antenna on the control unit. When I took the control unit out of the rear glove box area and tried the remote from about 50 feet or so, the car chirped but when I put the control unit back behind the glove box I had to go up like right next to the car again. I'm thinking I need to replace the remote and the control unit but I'm not sure. Anyone else have a 1995 325i with a 3 button remote? How far can you guys usually lock your doors from?
Ok i don't mean to steal your forum, but i have a question about keyless to. I have a 93 318i and i want to install keyless entry. I found a kit at pelicanparts.com for only like $90, so i want to go for it, they say its OEM to. The company is Steller. Anywayz, if i do get this, will the car chirp when i lock the doors?

ok cehck it out. i bought a steller and its a 400 unit cause its got the alamr . i hook it up and the horn for the alarma is weak as hell. and my doors only lock but dont unlock. piece of crap. just go to the dealer and get them to install u one.
I've got a 94 325i w/3-button keyless remote. The range on the transmitter isn't that great...but I can usuallyget it to work 15 feet or so away from the car. If the car's in a parking lot surrounded by other cars, the range is more like 5 feet.
You could probably try to move the antenna around a little to see if that helps reception...only problem is you've got to remove glove box each time you do that...and that's a pain.
BTW liltrig99 - you did steal the thread and that does take away from the original poster's question. Your question is good too, however next time please start a new thread.
