Question on manuals

Any recommendations on service manuals? I notice a big price difference between the Haynes and the Bentley. Thanks!

they are both quite adequate for the weekend garage mechanic. getting a hold of one is usually the difficult part.

i have a haynes, and its alright. It gives you baby steps on some stuff and general vageries on others. Chiltons is also good.

hayes is ok... i would reccomend using google for certain jobs. I found how to change my brake pads on google was easier than in the manual

haynes is OK at best. any time i have looked to it for something i find myself just going online to look for the answers minutes later. of course the 4 cyl engine in it is the m42, and mines the m44...not terribly different engines, but its more than enough when everything i need to check out is different.

i've always heard people swear by the bentley manual. i just ordered one from barnes and noble online, about $55. i think it'll pay for itself the first time i use it, compared to the labor charges i'll save from a shop.
