question about spark plugs - BMW Forum

i sent my buddy to autozone to get me some spark plugs they are champion 344 (RC9YC) and he claims to have lost the reciept oh well anyway has anyone ever dealt with them before i put them in my car? did he even get the right ones i looked online but havent found anything on them im not looking for performance just the stock feel or close to it thanksss

I'd take them to autozone and see if you can't exchange them for some ngk or bosch plugs. I know you don't have a receipt, but it's worth a shot. I've returned a lot of stuff at autozone/pepboys w/o a receipt. I'm sure they would probably work just fine, but I've never heard of anyone putting them in a BMW so I doubt you'll hear much if anything from someone on here who has put them in their car. I have a champion plug in my lawn mower though lol.

I'm going to put NGKs in eventually, but I have Autolites in mine right now with no apparent problems yet.

well i did some more digging there copper plus and i hear bad things about platinum im going to put them in and see what happens

Funny.. the champion didn't work too well in the victor with 98 premium.. only use NGK in it now. Latest one is from a Mitsubishi Magna of all things!

Same for the BMW.. only NGK. Had bosch previously and the NGK seem smoother.

I will only run NGKs in mine. Champions plugs are a good US Domestic plug, but weren't designed to run in the higher revving European cars. NGK Platinums = the only way to go

I'm sure they will work fine. Some people have had issues with platinum plugs and the aluminum heads. Frankly I never had a problem, but oem ngk plugs are copper cores, that's what I put in my miata as well. "higher revving european cars" doesn't mean much.

i just want a stock feel and maybe be a dick head at a double lane stoplight im not going daytona i hear the stock ones are copper anyway so ill try then it snowed today so tommorow and some one told me that champs are going to be fine

I use Bosch +4 Platinum's in my M52 but I've heard good things about NGK plugs as well.
