Question about 2 different 325I's ????
I have a 1995 325I Convertible and have had it for about 7 months now I love this car it was purchased as my Daily driver for gas mileage and since then I have totally grown respect for BMW's.
I own a 2001 Corvette ZO6 and have been BIG in the past in SCCA road racing I recently decided to let my Z06 rest a Bit and figured I would race my BMW however it is a Convertible.......
I ran across a 1994 325IS Coupe with 115,000 miles on it. The owner was asking $3,000 for it because he just bought a new 7 Series for his wife and needed to get rid of the 3 series for room reasons.
I recently bought a set of H&R springs And koni's for my Convertible for the awsome look it gives but have yet to put them on. Going to do that SOON !!!!!!
I decided to buy 94 model for a track car and just tonight I purchased online a set of coilovers for the car.
My question is both cars have the same looking muffler and tip coming out the rear..... when I look under the convertible it has different looking Cats on it and it also looks like it has a small 2 inch across crossover pipe intween the 2 pieces of pipe leading out the back into the muffler and out from under the car.
The 325IS has a totally different looking Cat set up with no small crossover looking pipe going out the back through a muffler that looks like the same one on my convertible and out under the car. I just went to get my convertible inspected and it failed and I was told the Cat is probably worn the red one passed I was told right before I bought it so it is up to date on inspection.... Even though it is only one year is there any difference in the exhaust set up on these car's? the 325IS feels a little more spunky and has a more DEEP NOTICABLE TONE to it than my 325I convertible.
Does anyone know the answer for this reason ???????
And why does the 95 convertible have that lil 2 inch across piece of pipe like a crossover pipe in between the exhaust and the 325IS doesnt have it ?
I'm just curious on this stuff................... I cant wait to let my Vette rest a little and get into other classes for a change with this BMW...... This could get interesting for a Vette Diehard who is having fun with these BMW's !!!!! of course sorry to say they dont right now have anything near what I have in my Vette but for Factory im SHOCKED !!!!!! and cant wait to play with these as well hehehe these cars Rock !!!!!!!
