I guess I don't understand how a solid O-ring could bloat. I usually change oil once/year and the O-ring comes out the same way it went in. It fits into a groove in th cap and can't go anyplace once the cap is tightened. Is it possible that there are two on there, like someone didn't remove an old one before installing the new one? I've seen it happen on domestic spin on filters. Just my $0.02
