Hey, I have a 93 318 and i have put another engine in it and i seem to have a problem, i cant seem to get my alternator to work. There is a ground wire on it but i dont know where it is supposed to mount up too, so i made a new ground wire that goes from the top of the alternator to the motor mount but this still isnt working....... can someone help me thanks

Send a message via AIM to dutchbmw
-Set the ignition on, but don't start the engine.
-Check if the alternator axis / (maybe also the pulley) are magnetic.

When it's not there is something bad, otherwise, I don't know.........

P.S. I am not sure if this is a good test, can someone endorse this claim?
