Problem With My Shifter Knob

i well im 16 and today i just bought my second car...which happens to be a beautiful 1992 318is its perfect...the seats have been covered with seatcovers since it was bought and the car was garage kept. the person who had it before me put on a momo carbon fiber shift knob. ive notied when i shift it just hold on to the shifter, the knob turns. how can i stop this...does it tighten or hook on tighter somehow? how can i do it?

unscrew the base bit, and there should be some allen key screws going into the stick. tighten them and youll be sweet

some shift knobs have different inserts in them to make them fit a certain car.. maybe yours is to loose....

mine does the same thing. It just spins and spins. Either way you turn it nothing loosens or tightens..I have just been dealing with it. I assume you have to pull it off and try and figure out the problem. I will try later today and tell you what I come up with
