Problem with the cluster...

umm i beleive cluster is the word im loking for
heres my situation.

while driving my car no matter how fast or slow i got sometimes even whe nim completely stop... my gas/temp/rpm/speed gauges just completely shuts off... meaning the whole cluster is liek not working btu the car is still runnig and everythign seems fine...this happends occasionally

stupid me didnt take the car to get it inspected before i bought it and just bought as is... soo

anyways what could be my problem... i asked around and some people say lose wires...

??? any ideas on how i coudl get this to stop cause i would really like to know how fast im going expecailly on the highway since i love to go to other cities....

Wiring comes loose. Need to remove clster and make sure everything is tight. Happened on my 318. You can search this site and google for remedies. I'll try to find more links on sbject to help.

I had the same thing, but very rare. If you dont look quick enough you miss it. It shuts off and comes rite back on. Since replacing some lights on the cluster, and re-plugging everything back in it hasnt happened.

Yeah, thats exactly what you need to do, remove your cluster (shouldnt be any problem) and then re-plug everything on its back, you should be set after this.

I had same thing in my 318i

If your not looking you'll miss it! It turns off for about a second or 2 then jumps right back on.

Most annoying, i took the car to an independant to fix a loose wire on my immobiliser plug under the dash and he mustve tightened everything up as it didnt do it after that.

But im guessing these guys are right with the loose wires!
