Hi all. My windows are a bit twitchy. They go down with no problems but sometimes going up they go about six inches then back a little. Sometimes after a few attempts they will go up properly and other times they need a little assistance from me...BMW parts guy said it sounds like the motors are fine and it is most likely the regulators causing the problems. He also said there are some serviceable parts on the regulators which I may be able to replace...So from anyone who has had experience in this area, does it sound like I should just spring for two new regulator assemblies instead of trying to farq around with bits and pieces? The car is nine years old so I suspect it may be time to just go for complete replacements........................
Also, is this a two man job or can I swing it alone????????
common on e36 2 door. open the door and make sure the track is fine, no blockages or sticky points.
when i fixed mine, it was that one of the knobs wasnt seated in the track properly, it was great for about a month then came back. ive been to lazy to repair it.
however it happens for a few different reasons, ive read a few different reasons to date.
i guess the obvious approch is process of elimination
my windows act up alittle sometime also. not sure if it is the same reasons or not, but its like they have sticky points sometimes. It occurs mainly with the passengers window. when i press the window up button it goes up a few inches and then starts going down so you have to keep messing with it to get it all the way up. is this a problem of sticky points or what?
yeah my windows also have this problem. the most common reason seems to be that there is something catching in the track. one guy was going to try lubricating the track, i dont know how that worked out though
