power window problem

i drive a 97 329is...and my windows dont go up nor down. the sunroof is fine, but when i open and close the door, the window doesnt nudge up/down either. any ideas? or suggestions? TIA

start by checking the fuse, then get out a voltmemter and check to make sure the regulator and motor are getting power and operating properly.

it WAS the fuse...i feel so dumb. it's the fisrt thing i shouda checked. i just replace it with a spare fuse. thanks again

Don't feel bad. I was working on a light switch in the storage at work today and wasn't paying attention, and I crossed the test leads and shorted the whole thing, which knocked out power the office and private dining room. Plus, it tripped another breaker on the emergency power circiut and it took ten minutes to find it.

Quite embarrassing. Luckly it was early and we had no customers.
