Gentlemen: Wait a minute!!! Before going to the auto part store take a look at the filler cap on your power steering reservoir; what you read on it is what you buy....not all BMWs were created equal some drink up ATF (auto. Trans. Fluid) others like the power steering fluid....as such messing up on this one will cost you a power steering pump....if no info on the cap then:
A. call your local dealer with your serial number he'll tell you what type of fluid you need.
B. Take a peak at your existing fluid is it red? honey-colored like? or what?

Yeah...if its anything a BMW driver MUST get from dealer-only stock it's coolant and powersteering fluids these are very dealer specific for each BMW model and putting aftermarket fluids in there will not only mess up your manifold and hoses...
