Power Door Lock Issues

[1993_325i_5 speed]

I can no longer use the remote to open the power door locks.

It's a Clifford system. Whereas before the little light in the console (between the heated seats buttons) would flash when the car was locked and would turn off when the car was open, it's now ON at all times. I tried to trick it by disconnecting the battery - it works right after I plug the battery back - but as soon as I put the key in the ignition it craps out again (red light comes on... and the remote ceasese to work)...

Any suggestions????

if anyone knows about door problems i also have one too. My key wont unlock the driver side door it will only lock it ... and it is not easy to even lock it. And when it rained it was even harder to lock! IT seems like the locks are worn out or the key is worn out??

To the original poster:

Sounds like there's a short that's triggered when you hit the alarm button the first time after re-connecting the battery. Trace the wires behind the glove box, you may have pinched them when you originally put your alarm in.

Also, why not give Clifford a call? I'm sure they can point you in the right direction.

When is the last time the battery was replace in your FOB? My son's car acted weird until I put a new battery in the FOB.

Sounds like your Driver's side actuator is out. Check there first.

I was gonna say that too, but the actuator shouldn't affect you using a key to unlock the door would it???
