Hello fellow Bimmer owners,
I have a couple of questions:
I have a 1992 325i convertible. The power top has some issues with locking latches etc. I was advised to convert to a manual system. My owners manual shows both. The manual system has a side crank on the rear divers side side panel. Can anyone tell me if there is any "how to" diagrams or instructions on how to convert? Guidence on cutting the hole and what cables and latches are required to compleate the job? Right now the back lid does not lock down and I'm am afraid to drive it for fear of the wind blowing it open! Any suggestions??????????

Question 2 - I have sent away for a wood dash kit and all the diagrams shown for 1992 0n shows a E36 interior. Mine is a 92 but has the older up to 1991? E30 dash design? Was there a change in mid 91?

Finally - does armor- all promote cracking of the dashboard????
Thanks
Rudy

Why would you want to convert to manual...that sucks...before you resort to midieval times with your conv. top...hunt around and find a place that specializes in convertible tops etc...when I had my back window replaced BMW wanted to charge me $300...then I hunted around and found the guy that BMW uses to do this kind of work...he charged me $150! My point is find out how much it costs to fix before you convert. Manual top is also going to bring re-sale value down. Just my 2 cents.

You have an e30. The e30 body style carried over into 92 for the convertables.
