Ok you are probbly wondering why i would want to do this? well i just want to and i don't want to find a new car and mine is in ultimate shape. but i like the 2 door better than 4 so, i know the chassis are the same and the interior is the same for the most part but what would it take to convert my car to a two door. if the body is the only thing that needs to be replaced couldn't i just take the body of a wrecked "is" or something like that what would it take so i could get my car to be a two door and make it so i could put this on......
well, you'd have to redo the chassis uprights, as the 2 door has longer doors than the sedan.
THen you'd have to do the filling, welding... etc to make the car structurally sound.
Basically... the cost would be far more than the finished product is worth.
Call any of the body shops and ask them what would be involved in turning a sedan into a coupe. That will let you know if you're interested in continuing with the project.
Sell your car and buy a 2 drs. A swap will cost you a lot of money and you get it never back when you should put your 2doors up for sale........ Think about that! Good luck

the bodys are completely different even though they look the same. even the rear lights can show you that the IS body is wider than the I. its just not worth it lol

used Are you trying to get something like that body kit?? Isn't that a 328is in the picture, or is it supposed to be a 328i, transformed into a 328is? If you're going for that race car's look, I'm confused... You wouldn't be able to drive it anywhere but around a nice, smooth, even racetrack.
