Ok.. I have read a million post talking about porting and polishing Exude hone and on and on and on.... I am familiar with all of these techniques and have used all of them. I have gasket matched many a chevy head in my life done some porting and polishing and had some heads and intakes exude honed. I want to know has anyone actually done this work on a BMW I6 motor?

I ask this becuase these motors use PLASTIC intake manifilds that mate to the heads, are already fairly well polished from the factory... and use individual gaskets to match the runners to the heads... so exude honing the manifold is absolutely out, and could be done on the head but I am curious as to what gains if any have been seen

port matching ? with the rubber oring set up? i am not sure how, since you dont know the deformtion footprint of the o ring when it is torqued correctly and you need to have a sealing surface lest the oring squishis into the head and then there is no seal...

So once again... are all the folks just talking about general motor building techniques which are not even applicable to the I6 motors or can some of these things actually be done, and if so how?

Please no "friend of my dog walker's cousin had this done" responses...
