i just bought a bmw 1997; model 1998year -318-tds-compact and there on bord where -inspection show a red and yellow light but there a lot of green lights who are empty whats thats that ? what show a inspection whats the meaning on that light

That's the LED light array showing your service interval. It's a green to yellow to red light sequence count down to next needed service as indicated by the engine computer. The fact that it shows red and yellow now doesn't mean service is over due, just that the service indicator has not been reset. Inspection means that a full inspection is also due. Also, when the SI (service indicator) is reset, the green array will only stay on for a few seconds after engine start.

thanks bro i need to chek that also when you start the engine behind the exhaust black smoke rose a little................ hope that there is a problem with engine

You said it was a turbo diesel, but I don't believe bmw had an e36 diesel motor. Chances are it needs rings. How long was she sitting for before it was last driven? Could just use a fuel injection cleaner.
