Plastic Coverings

What are the plastic panels on the bottom of the front of the car called. I hit a massive pothole and on both sides ... the left and right, right under the foglights, the plastic coverings had to be taken off. I need to purchase new ones but I don't know the name of them.

Almost every BMW part has part number on it... If you stiull have the old part taker a look. I looked at the ETK and I could not figure out the part you were looking for but if you get me a part number i can send you the relevant diagram. I realize that isn't what you were really looking for but the description you gave is very hard to match up to the diagram.

I do believe he means the black plastic cover that just keeps water and debris from flying up into the engine bay...mine fell off too and I haven't even thought about replacing it because I just haven't had any need to...

I don't have the parts anymore ... I was just curious if anyone knew the names.

They are underpanels.

I replaced mine with an aluminum one.

I had to replace mine a month ago. I drove through some standing water and it ripped it right off. Bavarian Auto has them listed as "splash panels". Of course my 98 323is needed the $78 one instead of the $18 one.
