performance chip

okay so im thinking about buying a chip for my 92 318is and was wondering if anyone knew if those cheap chips off ebay will actually work or if i will just have to buy a high-end chip like a dinan chip or something.

If you want to get performance out of your car don't get those cheap chips.
do cold air intake, and headers back exhaust.
cold air and headers back will boost your hp of a minimum 15....
And it's safer. Just something to think about.

I wouldn't be getting any chips for your car unless you get a tuner. Or go to a performance shop and see if they can re tune your car for you.

Also maintenance like spark plugs. coils over plugs, air filter. oil changes, fuel filter, play a big part of your cars performance. Try cleaning the MAF sensor and Throttle body. I'm sure they are dirty as hell

I had a cheap chip in my e30 and it worked very well, spun tires through four gears. But that was a 325i make sure you buy the right own for the ecu. I think I spent about 50 on mine.

well i have the whole car apart right now so i am replacing all of the filters and cleaning everything just to make sure its spotless. but i was figuring that since i have the whole car apart i want to do some performance mods to it.

ha okay. ive just been a little catious becaue ive heard of them completely screwing up the car. so i just wanted to get some second opinions.

If it does do anything to harsh you can always switch it back.

well thats true. i think im gonna go ahead and get one. and if it didnt work then its only $40 .
