Why do all these rice kids think they can smoke 3 series bimmers. I love to race but don't do it much because its a bimmer ya know. when i do race these idiots, i smoke. a lot of people underestimate a 323 manual, it actually can do some damage on the street, wanted an M3 of course but love my jewel. gt mustangs can't get me either, FORD = F***ed On Race Day. Coalition for the american autobahn fo sho.

Before getting my 328i (sport option)I drove a 323is. Nice and fast, though somewhat less so than the 328. I'm always surprised that ricers try, it's just no competition unless we're talking typeS or R integras, or turbo supra, rx-7 turbo, etc. Civics, accords, no chance. Friend of mine hwo used to own a Mustang Cobra just drove my 328 -- loved it-- and thought my car was great, though not as fast ,or flat in cornering--but much more sophisticated handling and quality with ample power and torque.
Anyway, I have the greatest of respect for the 323. It's a really nice package.

luv 328is's too, especially the white leather ones. Do they make 328 in 5spd versions? all the ones i have seen are automatic

Hate to break it to ya, but a GT would have no problem smoking you.
yeah you are right actually, "1998 Ford Mustang GT 0-60 6.20 sec" vs. 1998 323IS manual 0-60 7.1 sec. .9 seconds faster than the bimmer to 60 but I wouldn't say smoked. I guess this guy just coudn't drive. Anyways its all good. One thing is 4 sure. 98 M3 I6 would win against 4.6L V8 GT no problem, and the new ones would rip it a new one.

He might be refering to a GT CONVERTIBLE which would be considerably slower also probably paired witha automatic...andFord isn't very good at automatics.
