Peak Took And Error Code

96 328i.
My check engine light came on and when I checked the code, it gave FE (which the book says "EVAP Large Leak detected".
Anyone know what that means. I'm guessing maybe just needs to tighten my gas cap.

I have a 98' 328 and my check engine light is on....how do I read the code? From the OBC?

You have an OBD II car. You need the OBD II scanner. Is there an autozone in the area? They will read the codes for free. Maybe some other parts place will do the same thing.

your book's explanation is a bit ambiguous. check the hoses to the evap can and the purge valve. also possible, but unlikely, the can itself may be leaking, but these usually last a lifetime.
did you notice any stumble in the idle when the light came on?
