| What's up guys. I need some help installing the front passenger side seat belt. I know where and how everything connects, the only problem is i can't seem to figure out how to pull the belt out of the retraction device. Is there some sort of switch or lever I need to hold down to pull it out? I already took out my old one (the spring busted and it wouldn't retract or pull out anymore). I went to BMW and purchased a new one, but the belt doesn't pull out of the harness piece. It will pull out about 1/2 an inch then lock, similar to the locking when one slams on the brakes and the belt locks. The problem is pulling it out and it NOT locking so i can install it.
It seems like a pretty simple install. I thought i would just pull the belt out, bolt the harness into the rear paneling, bolt the upper portion, and hook the loop in the bottom and then viola. Now, if i can only figure out how to pull the damn seat belt out instead of it locking after less than an inch of pulling.
any help would be great!
