painting bumpers

i've seen some 3 series with painted bumpers that were originally black. is this a good idea, or are there some down sides? i appreciate your feedback. thanks

Inside the door frame on mine anyway.

I found my paint code on the outside of the little humps where to wheel comes down from, under the hood. (brain fart, cant think of a name ) Also, i plan to paint mine this weekend. I have bought spray cans, but do i need to prime the bumpers first or anything else?

i have 4 different air compressors and a nice gun... anything else i need?

Nab the VIN off the inside of your door and any BMW dealership can tell you your color code.

The paint name is located on the driv er shock tower. If the number is not listed with it, then it will be on the drivers door jamb.
