P0455 - Help

Ok..I am now forum jumping for the answer to my curse of P0455. Where is the EVAPORATIVE PURGE VALVE on a 1998 BMW 318i SEDAN?????

It is not the GAS CRAP! Cap?

just follow the lines from the canister and you're sure to find it

Thank you! I will go check this now. This has been a troubling code! It is the only code tha pops up so I believe the sensors are ok. I am hoping a hose fell off broke or just aged apart. Any other ideas would be appreciated. The Gas Cap and Oil Caps have been replaced.

... a bad seal between gas cap and filler hole will set P0455 as well. Pay close attention to that part of your filler pipe where the gas cap seal rests.... in some cases, they get damaged from jamming the gas dispenser into the filler hole, so that even if gas cap is new(or wrong spec), it still won't seal right...

Thank you! I will check this closely with flashlight. This is simply driving me NUTS!

YEAH!!!!! At least the Blue Hose went all the way to front and was SPLIT about 8" to the valve. It is fixed easily. The P0455 LEAK code appears to just that! a LEAK no electronic problems.
